An acoustic can be plugged into a soundboard of any kind and be amplified through use of speakers. Electric guitars are the same however they need amplifiers and they aren't really two uses in one like in an acoustic. acoustic guitar playing is made so you have choice of putting a pick-up inside for the soundboard. If not they can always be mic-ed. I love guitars personally because of the range of sound and uses they offer such as different voices. They really are one of the greatest in inventions of all time, in my opinion.
